What we do…

We work together with what it is you need, through thinking and gentle hands on guidance you can learn to release tension and use your body according to its natural design.

Mostly working with everyday activities; sitting, standing, walking, bending and learning to move using your joints.

You learn the Principles of good movement and how to make thinking about yourself part of your daily life, freeing yourself from old habits, so your body is naturally balanced in stillness and activity.

  • I am happy to visit you at your home or at an outside venue

  • I cover an approximate 20 mile radius of Princes Risborough

  • 1 Hour Lessons available Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday (9am first - 5pm last)

    It’s a Skill for Life. By using your body's natural intelligence you can learn to improve balance, posture, self awareness, general well being and improve your life.

  • No special clothing is needed, however something you can move freely in is always a good start and part of your lesson may be lying down so trousers or leggings are easy but not compulsory!

  • Allow a good hour.

  • In general I recommend regular lessons for a couple of months to be able to work by yourself, imagine learning a new skill, so just as much as you want or need to, therefore the amount of lessons you have and how often has to be entirely up to you,.

    After your first lesson, if you would like to continue forward, I offer reduced rates for block bookings.

The Principles of the Technique can be applied to everything we do in life and by undoing our old habits we learn to apply freedom in movement.

About F.M. Alexander (1869-1955)

The Alexander Technique is the discovery of F.M.Alexander: an aspiring Australian actor, who discovered he could 'learn to help himself' after years of looking to the medical profession to fix him.

After years of work on himself he increased his awareness and he discovered that the human body works best according to its design.

By bringing it back into balance the body as a whole becomes better aligned. This healthier alignment in turn encourages an improvement in general functioning, breathing, circulation and digestion. Your Muscle tone improves as undue tensions, both physical and mental are released and a greater sense of poise and well-being is experienced.
